Chitwan National Park is Nepal’s most famous wildlife reserve and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, home to greater one-horned rhinos, Bengal tigers, crocodiles and over 500 bird species. Lodges cluster around Sauraha at the park’s buffer zone, where programs combine jeep safaris, Rapti River canoe rides, guided jungle walks, and Tharu cultural evenings. We follow the classic 3N/4D format used by reputable operators so you get two full activity days plus travel buffers.
Access is by road from Kathmandu or Pokhara. Typical drive times are ~5–6 hours depending on traffic, roadworks and season; distance is roughly 150–170 km from Kathmandu via the Prithvi Highway. Flights (Bharatpur) are also possible in season. Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed, but this plan maximizes time across river, grassland and sal forest habitats when animals are most active.
