The Ghorepani–Poon Hill trek is the Annapurna region’s most-loved short hike, perfect when you want big Himalayan views without big altitude. Over five days you’ll climb stone stairways through terraced fields and rhododendron forest to Ghorepani and the famous sunrise viewpoint of Poon Hill (3,210 m) for a 360° panorama of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna. Daily walking averages 4–6 hours, with plenty of tea houses along the way. From Ghorepani you traverse to Tadapani and descend to Jhinu Danda for optional hot springs, before an easy walk out and drive back to Pokhara.
Best time: (Mar–May) for blooms and (Sep–Nov) for the clearest skies. Winter is possible with warmer layers; the monsoon brings clouds and rain.
